Yoga nidra is both a process and a state …. A state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It is a form of meditation often called yogic sleep. Yoga nidra is a state that occupies the borderline between waking and sleeping - not fully awake nor fully asleep. Ultimately we can take this state of consciousness and awareness into our sleep and our sleep becomes meditation. Yoga nidra is for absolutely anyone, but does have immense benefit for those who struggle to slow down, relax and “let go” Benefits of Yoga Nidra include but not limited to *Relaxation *More awareness of the body and breath, by helping to relieve muscular, emotional and mental tension *Regulation of emotions *Reduces stress *Aids sleep In this workshop we will delve into the history of yoga nidra, the benefits of this practice, the stages of yoga nidra. We will then emerge ourselves into a very gentle stretch and breath relaxation session to lead us into a guided yoga nidra and sound practice.
